Transportation Services Driver – Non-Emergent Van

Reports to

Program Director Special Projects

Job Duties

·  Understanding and correct use of Traffic Laws, Road mapping and GPS

· Understand and use correct reporting procedures for severe or unusual incidents, including but not limited to client injury or illness, incidents of aggression, or injury involving employees.

·  Ensure that they are following safe work practices.

·  Ensure all company property is maintained at an optimal level of cleanliness and tidiness.

·  Maintain positive relationships with service providers encountered on trips.

·  Communicate effectively and use a professional demeanour with all people.

·  Maintain current credentials as required for employment.

· Operate transportation equipment in a safe manner, following correct procedure of use as listed in manuals.

·  Deliver premium patient/client care.

·  Safely operate transportation vehicle

·  Keep supplies needed in van stocked and maintained.

·  Keep documentation as outlined by FOCUS and submit in accordance with set timelines.

·  Be punctual and ready to transport on time.

·  Deal with conflicts with good judgement and FOCUS guidelines

·  Practice FOCUS operational guidelines.

·  Inform Program Director if not physically capable to perform duties.

·  Actively participate in community events the FOCUS transport attends.

·  Maintain professional appearance and demeanour and hygiene while on duty.

·  Know and recognize traffic and inclement weather limitations and hazard.

Job Requirements

· Ability to remain calm during emergent situations while operating FOCUS vehicle.

· Valid Alberta class 4 drivers license

· Completion of Professional Driver Improvement Course and 15 Passenger Van Safety Course

Work Conditions

· Interaction with fellow employees, clients/patients, facility staff, and other agencies

· Occasional overtime

· Intermittent physical activity, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting patients

· Daily travel both inside the Vermilion area and outside

· Longer driving trips outside the region

· Dealing/navigating through all weather types
